Martin Helmchen
Virtuosity is great fun for me,” says Martin, but a meaningful and subtle musical interpretation is significantly more important to the musician than impressing his audience with sheer technicality. At 19, Helmchen made his debut by winning the Clara Haskil Competition, and since has developed an unpretentious and expressive musical approach that has cemented his place among the celebrities of the piano world.
Helmchen has appeared with leading orchestras in Bostin, Chicago, London, Paris, and Tokyo, and has made his own phenomenal debuts with the philharmonics of Berlin, Vienna, New York, and Amsterdam.
